40-year-old Olivet woman seriously injured in single-vehicle crash

40-year-old Olivet, Mich., woman driving the pickup truck was taken to Sparrow Hospital for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Two additional passengers in the truck were not injured.
A 40-year-old woman from Olivet, Michigan was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash in Calhoun County on Friday, April 28th. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Old US-27 N Highway near West Drive Road in Lee Township.
According to the Michigan State Police Marshall Post, a Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling southbound on Old US-27 when the driver lost control and crossed the center lane into the northbound lanes. The truck then rolled down an embankment and stopped upright.
The driver, a 40-year-old woman from Olivet, was taken to Sparrow Hospital for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Two additional passengers in the truck were not injured. None of the three occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The Michigan State Police is investigating the incident, but neither drug nor alcohol use are believed to be factors in the crash. The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department, Olivet Fire Department, and Marshall Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.
