One Killed in Livermore Four-Vehicle Collision

One person died, while another suffered injuries.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal collision involving four vehicles occurred on eastbound Interstate Highway 580 in Livermore early Thursday morning. The incident resulted in one person losing their life.
The chain of events began when a Ford Mustang rear-ended a Ford F-350 pickup truck at around 3:30 am in the far-left lane on eastbound Highway 580 at First Street. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from this initial crash and the driver of the pickup moved it to the right shoulder.
However, things took a turn for the worse when a Chevrolet pickup truck allegedly exceeded speed limits while traveling in the third lane from left. According to CHP officials, "the driver looked left to change lanes, switched and saw the Mustang ahead." Unable to brake in time, they crashed into its right front passenger door.
As if that wasn't enough damage already done, moments later, another passing vehicle - a Ford Expedition - hit the rear end of Chevy's truck.
Sadly, as per CHP reports,"the driver of the Mustang died" due to injuries sustained during this multi-car accident. Meanwhile,the Chevy's driver suffered severe injuries including broken bones but is expected to survive.The other drivers involved escaped unscathed with no physical harm caused by this tragic event.
All lanes on eastbound Highway 580 had been closed until about 5:15 am before reopening partially; all lanes were fully operational again by approximately 7am following clearance operations carried out by authorities.
