One Person Dead in Crash Involving Tractor-Trailer in Greer

An investigation is currently underway following a fatal crash involving a tractor-trailer carrying steel beams in Greer, Spartanburg County, South Carolina. The incident occurred on Tuesday night at approximately 8:15 p.m. near the intersection of SC 14 and Interstate 85.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the tractor-trailer was attempting to make a turn into a private business located on SC 14 when it was struck by a Ford Econoline van traveling westbound. The collision resulted in tragic consequences for one of the van's passengers.
Troopers reported that there were three individuals inside the van at the time of the accident. Sadly, one of them was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased passenger has been identified as Andres Perez-Lopez, a 28-year-old resident of Greer, according to information provided by the Spartanburg County Coroner's Office.
At present, no charges have been filed in relation to this incident. However, both the SC State Transport Police and South Carolina Highway Patrol are actively investigating all aspects surrounding this crash.
