Fatal Crash on U.S. 42 in Florence: Megan Ruoff Killed

One fatality, one injured
One person has tragically lost their life in a car crash that occurred on U.S. 42 in Florence on Sunday morning, according to the Florence Police Department. The incident took place near Grand Avenue at approximately 10:17 a.m.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered that two vehicles had collided on U.S. 42. A media release from the police department stated that a white Nissan Sentra traveling westbound had veered into the eastbound lanes of travel and crashed head-on with a red Chevrolet Malibu.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) promptly attended to both drivers involved in the collision. Megan Ruoff, a 34-year-old resident of Florence who was driving the white Nissan, was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence for treatment but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the red Chevrolet was also taken to an area hospital for medical care. They were transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and are currently listed as being in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. At this time, authorities have not released their name.
In response to this tragic accident, the Florence Police Accident Reconstruction Team has been deployed to thoroughly investigate and gather further information about what led up to this collision.
