One Person Dies in Crash in Winter Garden

One person has tragically lost their life in a crash that occurred in Winter Garden on Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities. The incident took place at approximately 2:14 p.m. on State Road 429, resulting in the closure of northbound lanes from New Independence Parkway to Tilden Road.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the driver of a 2022 Dodge RAM was traveling north on SR-429 when, for reasons yet unknown, he suddenly veered towards the right and collided with the guardrail. As a result of the impact, the truck overturned and subsequently ejected its driver. Tragically, the 43-year-old Orlando resident was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger who was also present in the vehicle during this devastating accident is identified as a 21-year-old individual. Fortunately, their injuries are not considered life-threatening. They were promptly transported to ORMC for medical treatment.
