One Person Killed in Plane Crash Near Youngstown

On Sunday afternoon, a single-engine propeller plane crashed near Braley Road in Youngstown, New York. According to the New York State Police, the crash resulted in one fatality.
The police report states that the plane collided with trees and power lines before crashing at approximately 3:10 p.m. The victim was identified as the only person on board at the time of the incident.
Authorities believe that the individual was heading home and do not suspect any foul play or stunt performance. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are currently working alongside local law enforcement to determine what caused this tragic accident.
Investigators will be looking into whether pilot error or mechanical failure contributed to this fatal event and whether it occurred during takeoff or while in-flight.
As a result of this incident, Braley Road between Porter Center Road and Youngstown-Wilson Road is closed until further notice.
