One Student Killed, Multiple Injured in Bus Crash in Clark County, Ohio

One student has tragically lost their life and over 20 others have been injured in a devastating bus crash that occurred on Tuesday morning in Clark County, Ohio. The collision involved a Northwestern Local Schools bus and a 2010 Honda Odyssey that crossed its path.
According to WHIO, the bus driver attempted to swerve to avoid contact but was unsuccessful, causing the bus to overturn with 52 students on board. Emergency medical services quickly arrived at the scene and transported more than a dozen children to a nearby hospital. Additionally, ten other students received treatment from hospital staff.
The driver of the SUV, reported to be 35 years old, sustained injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. Tragically, one child was pronounced dead at the accident site on Troy Road in Springfield Ohio, just north of Dayton. According to reports from the Springfield News-Sun, this victim was ejected from the bus during the crash. Another student is said to have suffered "serious injuries."
The bus driver involved in the incident is Alfred E. Collier who is 68 years old and received treatment for minor injuries.
In response to this tragic event, Northwestern Local Schools took to Facebook stating: "Northwestern Family, I am saddened to report that there was an Injury accident this morning involving one [of] our buses... We are still gathering information and will share it with you as it becomes available."
The Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association issued a statement declaring it as "a mass casualty incident" while confirming that their staff were attending to injured students. German Township Fire & EMS also established a reunification center for both parents and students affected by this tragedy.
