Delays on I-74
Wednesday afternoon, drivers on I-74 faced significant delays as a result of an overturned tractor-trailer that caused a hazardous materials (Hazmat) spill. Winston-Salem police responded to the crash on the ramp from northbound I-74 onto westbound I-40.
According to reports, the accident involved a tractor-trailer that veered off the road and flipped over, scattering debris across the road. As a result, authorities reduced traffic flow on the ramp to one lane for an extended period.
Fire crews were also present at the scene, likely due to concerns regarding potential hazards resulting from any spilled hazardous materials.
