The owner of Millwall FC, a popular English soccer team, has been identified as the man who died in a car crash on Cape Cod on July 4. Falmouth police confirmed that John G. Berylson of Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts was the driver involved in the accident.
Berylson, 70 years old, was described by his team as "a truly great man" who was devoted to his family and known for his generosity and kindness. The statement released by Millwall FC expressed their grief over losing such an incredible individual: "He lived a storied life, one full of colour and joy, and was infinitely thoughtful of others with an endless desire to share his immense knowledge and experiences to help people."
According to reports, Berylson was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. He leaves behind his wife Amy and three children - Jennifer, James, and Elizabeth.
Millwall FC is a historic London team that has been playing for 138 years in the second division of English soccer known as the Championship. Berylson had been involved with the club since 2006.
The details surrounding the car crash indicate that Berylson lost control of his 2019 Range Rover on Sippewissett Road. The SUV rolled over before crashing into a tree in a ravine. Despite efforts to extricate him from the vehicle promptly after the accident, Berylson unfortunately succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
