Partridge Woman Killed in Collision with Semi-Truck

A tragic accident in Reno County, Kansas has claimed the life of a Partridge woman. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol Crash Log, emergency crews were called to the scene of a two-vehicle collision at around 5 p.m. on Friday, September 8th.
The incident occurred at the intersection of K-61 and Partridge Rd., southwest of Hutchinson. Janice L. Richardson, a 77-year-old resident of Partridge, was driving her 1987 Buick Century north on Partridge Rd. At the same time, Ronald L. Johnson, a 57-year-old from Moundridge, was operating a 2005 Peterbilt semi-truck heading northeast on the highway.
According to authorities, Richardson stopped at the posted sign at K-61 and attempted to cross over onto the highway when tragedy struck. Her Buick collided with Johnson's semi-truck in the intersection.
First responders quickly arrived at the scene and rushed Richardson to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, despite efforts made by hospital staff, she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Thankfully, Johnson emerged from this devastating crash without any injuries reported. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts when the collision occurred.
This heartbreaking incident serves as another reminder for all motorists to exercise caution while navigating intersections and always adhere to traffic signs and signals.
