Driver of the Toyota transported to Advocate Christ Hospital in critical condition

A serious accident occurred on the Southwest Side of Chicago early Friday morning, leaving one person critically injured. According to the police report, a Ford Mustang driven by a 25-year-old man was speeding southbound when it collided with a Toyota SUV driven by a 50-year-old man at around 4:44 am. The impact was so severe that it split the Toyota in half and scattered debris across Pulaski Road near 59th Street.

The driver of the Mustang fled on foot but was later found several blocks away from the scene. Meanwhile, emergency services rushed to transport the driver of the Toyota to Advocate Christ Hospital in critical condition.

Police have closed parts of Pulaski Road as they investigate further details about what happened.
