Person Dies After Being Thrown from Crash on I-395 Bridge

Authorities in Baltimore have recovered the body of an individual who was thrown from a crash on an Interstate 395 bridge. The incident occurred at the intersection of southbound I-395 and southbound Interstate 95, leading to the closure of southbound I-395, according to a tweet by Maryland Transportation Authority police.

The Baltimore City Fire Department received a call about a crash around 9:45 p.m. on I-395. While paramedics were assessing one victim involved in the collision, another multi-vehicle accident took place, resulting in one person falling over the Jersey wall into the water below. The fall was estimated to be more than 100 feet.

Kevin Cartwright, spokesman for the Baltimore City Fire Department, stated that their dive team was activated and managed to locate an unconscious and unresponsive individual in the water. It is believed that this person may have been providing assistance to those involved in the initial crash.

"We're still assessing at this moment who this individual was," said Cartwright. "It's believed that he may have been off rendering some aid to a vehicle that was already in a motor-vehicle collision."

Maryland Transportation Authority police are currently investigating the incident, and no further information has been released at this time. This report will be updated as more details become available.
