Interstate 10 near Vinton has been reopened after a collision involving two motor vehicles occurred on Friday morning, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.
At approximately 5:20 a.m., an individual traveling in the vicinity failed to yield to a law enforcement vehicle nearby, resulting in the crash. The El Paso County Sheriff's Office reported that at the time of the incident, the deputy was not inside their law enforcement vehicle but was conducting an investigation into another single-vehicle accident.
The person who neglected to yield suffered severe injuries and was promptly transported to a local hospital for treatment. As a result of this incident, there will be a road closure at mile marker 3 in the eastbound direction for approximately four hours. Motorists are advised to proceed towards mile marker 0 and access Doniphan Road or utilize Loop 404 as an alternative route.
