Essence Burnes dies in Phoenix car crash

One dead, two injured
A fatal car accident occurred in Phoenix on Sunday morning. The incident involved two cars and resulted in the death of one person while two others were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Phoenix police responded to the scene at around 6:30 am near 19th and Glendale Avenues. Upon arrival, they found Essence Burnes, aged 20 years old, who was one of the drivers involved in the crash. She had sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries later on.
The other driver involved in the accident along with Burnes' passenger were also taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.
As per detectives investigating this case, it appears that Burnes was driving through an intersection on 19th Avenue when she collided with another vehicle traveling on Glendale Avenue. At present there is no indication that impairment played any role in causing this tragic event; however, authorities are still trying to determine who ran the red light leading up to this collision.
