One Person Injured in Pick-up Truck Crash on I-55 in Will County

One person sustained minor injuries after crashing a pick-up truck into an IDOT trailer on southbound I-55 in Will County, Illinois. The incident occurred on Thursday morning at Milepost 264.
According to the Illinois State Police (ISP), the crash took place shortly after 5 a.m. The driver of the pick-up truck collided with the rear of a construction trailer that was parked in the left lane of a blocked-off construction site. It is currently unknown why the driver struck the trailer.
Fortunately, no vehicles were attached to the attenuator, as confirmed by ISP. The driver was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries for treatment.
As a result of this accident, all lanes had to be temporarily closed while first responders assessed and cleared the scene. However, by approximately 6:46 a.m., all lanes were reopened for normal traffic flow.
At this time, no further information regarding this incident has been made available.
