Driver hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries
A pickup truck crashed into The Sand Bar Café in New Smyrna Beach, Florida early Friday morning, causing significant damage to the restaurant. According to police reports, the driver was taken to AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach with non-life-threatening injuries.
Photos from the scene show holes on either side of the restaurant and debris scattered throughout. It is unclear at this time what caused the crash or if anyone was inside the café when it happened. The restaurant typically closes at 2 p.m. on Thursdays.
The incident occurred at 1500 South Dixie Freeway in New Smyrna Beach. Police have not released any further details about the crash but are expected to provide updates as they become available.
