Pickup Truck Driver Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash in Florence County

A pickup truck driver lost their life in a tragic accident late Thursday night in Florence County, South Carolina. The incident occurred around 11:50 p.m. on Friendfield Road at Rushtown Road near Effingham, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Authorities reported that a 2012 Chevrolet pickup was heading north on Friendfield Road when it veered off the left side of the highway. It then reentered the road briefly before once again departing from the left side and colliding with a tree.
While there were no passengers in the vehicle, tragically, the driver succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the crash. The identity of the deceased has not been released at this time.
