According to a recent report, a tragic accident occurred on Friday afternoon in Cherokee County that resulted in the death of Brenda A. Ferguson, a 68-year-old woman from Piedmont. The incident took place just before 5 p.m. on U.S. 411 near the 255-mile marker, which is approximately ten miles south of Alexis.
Ferguson was driving her 2021 Lexus RX 350 when it collided with a Mack tractor-trailer driven by Dylan Sorter, aged 35 and hailing from Guntersville. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries sustained during the crash.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division has launched an investigation into what caused this fatal accident. No further details have been released at this time.
