A small plane crashed near a busy interstate in Oklahoma City, leaving one person in critical condition at the hospital. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon around 1 p.m. along I-235 near I-44.
According to Oklahoma City's Fire Chief, the pilot experienced power loss while flying and had to make an emergency landing. During the descent, the plane struck power poles above Broadway Extension before crashing off to the side of the highway. Captain David Shearer confirmed that as a result of hitting these power lines, serious injuries were sustained by the pilot.
The investigation into what caused this unfortunate accident is ongoing as authorities work to determine all relevant factors leading up to it.
