Fatal crash on East Freeway involving one of the four suspects

A police chase involving a stolen vehicle ended in a fatal crash that closed the westbound lanes of the East Freeway near John Ralston Road, Houston, Texas. The incident occurred on Saturday and resulted in one of the four suspects inside being ejected from the car.
According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez's tweet, "Units with the Harris County Sheriff's Office were in pursuit of a reportedly stolen vehicle with four men on the inside after a traffic stop." Deputies followed the car until it began driving erratically, causing units to back off.
The pursuit stopped when the driver of the car being chased struck another vehicle and then crashed out. The occupants in the other vehicle were not severely injured. However, one suspect was ejected from their car during impact and died at the scene.
"The remaining three then bailed on foot from the scene but two were caught shortly after," HCSO said. There is an active search for third suspect who remains at large.
The accident caused major traffic delays as authorities worked to clear up debris and investigate what happened. Drivers are advised to avoid this area if possible or expect significant delays while traveling through this section of highway.
