Pomona Father Arrested for DUI After Crash Kills 12-Year-Old Son

A tragic incident occurred in Pomona, California, as a father was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after crashing off the 57 Freeway. The crash resulted in the death of his 12-year-old son who was also in the car with him.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident took place near Temple Avenue around midnight on Saturday. Ignacio Vasquez was driving a 2016 Honda Civic when he veered off the roadway and collided with a dirt embankment at a high speed.
Both Vasquez and his young son suffered severe injuries and were immediately transported to a nearby hospital. Sadly, despite medical efforts, the boy succumbed to his injuries and passed away later on. Abel Vasquez would have celebrated his 13th birthday just one day after this devastating incident.
The authorities from CHP revealed that Vasquez displayed signs of impairment at the time of the crash. Consequently, he was taken into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol.
