Red Wing Man Critically Injured in Box Truck and Scooter Collision

A Red Wing man is in critical condition after being involved in a serious accident while riding a small scooter this morning. According to the State Patrol, 35-year-old David Egan was traveling in the northbound lane of Highway 61 when he was struck by a box truck heading south on the same highway. The incident occurred just before 7 AM near Bench Street, west of downtown Red Wing.
Following the collision, Egan was immediately attended to by emergency responders from Red Wing Ambulance. He was then transported to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester for further medical treatment. Unfortunately, his injuries have been described as life-threatening by authorities.
The driver of the box truck has been identified as 31-year-old See Vang from St. Paul. Fortunately, Vang did not sustain any injuries during the incident.
At present, investigations into the circumstances surrounding this accident are ongoing and being conducted by relevant authorities.
