Rockford Woman Seriously Injured in Car Crash with Kent County Road Commission Truck

A Rockford woman sustained serious injuries on Wednesday, July 19, after losing control of her car and colliding with an oncoming Kent County Road Commission truck, according to state police. The incident occurred around 10 a.m. on M-44 NE near Wabasis Road in Grattan Township.
The 61-year-old woman was immediately transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance for medical treatment. Meanwhile, the truck driver emerged from the crash unharmed. Authorities have launched an investigation into the accident to determine its cause.
State police reported that the woman had been traveling eastbound on M-44 when she veered onto the road shoulder in an attempt to overtake a vehicle making a left turn. Unfortunately, she lost control of her car and collided with the westbound Road Commission truck.
Assisting state police at the scene were deputies from Kent County sheriff's office as well as firefighters from Cannon Township and Grattan Township along with personnel from the Road Commission.
