Rollover Crash on I-44 and I-40 Interchange in Oklahoma City

Traffic backups for miles
Officials with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to a rollover accident on Tuesday afternoon, causing traffic delays for drivers in the metro area. The incident occurred along southbound I-44 to westbound I-40, where a Waste Management truck had rolled over at Amarillo Junction.
Due to the severity of the crash, crews were forced to close down the junction and divert traffic elsewhere. As a result, motorists experienced significant backups for miles around the area.
Drivers are being advised by authorities to avoid using this interchange until further notice and find alternative routes instead. It is unclear at this time what caused the rollover or if there were any injuries sustained as a result of it.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has not released any additional information regarding this incident but will continue investigating its cause.
