Rollover Crash on I-91 in Springfield

Driver taken to hospital, expected to be okay. Tractor-trailer inspected and removed from highway.
A rollover crash on I-91 at Exit 5 in Springfield caused the closure of the left lanes in both directions on Thursday morning. According to Massachusetts State Police Spokesperson Dave Procopio, the incident occurred around 7:48 a.m. when troopers were called to I-91 near the Basketball Hall of Fame for a crash on the southbound side.
Procopio explained that it appeared a car had entered the median in an attempt to avoid colliding with a tractor-trailer and subsequently rolled over. The driver was transported to a local hospital and is expected to recover from their injuries.
In response to the accident, state police conducted an inspection and investigation of the tractor-trailer involved, which came to a stop and was escorted off the highway. The car has been removed from the scene, and as of now, only one northbound lane remains closed while authorities work towards reopening all lanes.
