Danielle and Francesca Bologna Killed in Head-On Crash in Calaveras County

Three people in the Honda were killed and six people in the other car, a 2020 Lexus, suffered moderate to major injuries.
Tragedy struck on Friday when a head-on collision claimed the lives of two San Francisco women and the driver of their vehicle. The incident occurred near Copperopolis in Calaveras County.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a 2020 Honda traveling at high speed veered into the westbound lane for unknown reasons on Highway 4. The Honda collided with a 2020 Lexus carrying six individuals from San Jose, causing moderate to major injuries to its occupants.
The identities of those killed were confirmed by the Calaveras County Coroner's Office as Danielle Bologna, aged 62, her daughter Francesca Bologna, aged 25, both from San Francisco, and Jose Luis Garcia Jr., aged 25, from Hayward. Garcia was driving at the time of the accident.
Danielle Bologna was remembered as an integral part of the Rooftop School family in San Francisco, where she had worked at one point. Colleagues honored her positive attitude and kindness.
Friends of the family have set up a GoFundMe page seeking support for family during this difficult period, and have requested privacy for Andrew Bologna as he copes with burying not only his mother but also his sister.
This tragic incident serves as a reminder of how fragile life can be, leaving behind grieving communities who will remember Danielle and Francesca Bologna as beloved members of their society.
