School Bus Crash in Lenoir County, North Carolina

All individuals injured in a school bus crash that occurred on Thursday afternoon in Lenoir County have been released from the hospital. The accident took place when a pickup truck rear-ended the school bus at around 3:30 p.m. on Pauls Path Road and Ben Dail Road, between Kinston and La Grange.

According to Bryan Hanks, spokesperson for Lenoir County, the bus was from La Grange Elementary School. Reports suggest that there were approximately 21 children on board and five of them were taken to UNC Lenoir Health Care due to injuries sustained during the accident.

The pickup truck involved in the collision was towing lawnmowers at the time of impact. Its driver had to be airlifted to ECU Health Medical Center located in Greenville but has since been released from the hospital around midnight after being pinned down following his vehicle running off-road.

The Highway Patrol is currently investigating this incident further and we are awaiting an update from troopers regarding any charges related to this mishap.
