Two Dead in Wrong-Way Crash on Route 202 in East Whiteland

A tragic wrong-way crash on Route 202 in East Whiteland Township, Chester County has claimed the life of a second person. Pennsylvania State Police confirmed on Tuesday that 19-year-old Lucian Robert-Popdan LI passed away from his injuries sustained in the accident.

According to state police reports, Robert-Popdan LI was driving a Volkswagen Taos with two passengers when a 2015 GMC Sierra traveling in the wrong direction collided head-on with their vehicle. The devastating incident occurred shortly after midnight on July 14 near mile marker 17.2 on northbound Route 202.

Following the crash, all three occupants of the Volkswagen were rushed to Paoli Hospital for emergency medical treatment. Tragically, Robert-Popdan LI succumbed to his injuries and passed away this Monday. The two remaining passengers are currently listed as being in critical but stable condition at the hospital.

The driver of the GMC Sierra, identified as Matthew DeAngelis, aged 42, tragically lost his life at the scene of the accident.
