Tuesday night traffic came to a halt as emergency crews responded to a semi-truck fire at the I-39/90 exchange in Cherry Valley.
According to reports, the incident occurred just after 7:30 p.m., prompting immediate dispatch of multiple units to the scene located south of Newburg Road.
While traffic on the westbound side of the tollway continued moving, motorists traveling east on I-90 were advised to avoid driving past State Street and seek alternate routes due to ongoing cleanup efforts.
The lanes have since been reopened on all sides of I-39/90 at the Cherry Valley exchange following successful firefighting operations and subsequent clean-up activities.
