Semi-Truck Involved in Four-Vehicle Crash on I-94 in Belleville

A four-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck occurred on Monday afternoon in Belleville, Michigan, according to state police. The incident took place on westbound I-94 near Haggerty Road.
State police reported that the driver of the semi-truck rear-ended two vehicles on the freeway before losing control of their vehicle. The semi-truck then veered off into the right ditch and onto the northbound service drive of I-94. Unfortunately, it collided with an illegally parked tow truck situated on the shoulder of the service drive.
The Michigan State Police Second District Twitter account shared images from the scene showing significant damage to all involved vehicles. Fortunately, there were no major injuries reported as a result of this crash.
Both drivers involved in the collision received citations for their involvement in this incident. It serves as a reminder that certain risky driving behaviors contribute significantly to accidents in Metro Detroit.
"We know that certain risky driving behaviors lead to most crashes in Metro Detroit," stated Michigan State Police Lt. Mike Shaw. "Following too closely is one of those behaviors. It is important to leave enough room to stop your vehicle safely."
