Semi Truck and Pickup Truck Collide in Wichita

Both drivers taken to the hospital
The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) has reported that a white pickup truck traveling north on Greenwich and a semi truck heading west on K-254 collided after the pickup truck failed to yield at the stop sign. The impact caused the semi to veer off into a ditch where it subsequently caught fire. Both drivers involved in the accident were transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
According to KHP, the driver of the semi is currently being treated for burns sustained as a result of the fire. Fortunately, thanks to an alert pedestrian who witnessed the incident unfold, they were able to assist in getting the trapped driver out of harm's way before emergency personnel arrived at the scene.
Sedgwick County dispatch confirmed that one person suffered serious injuries while another individual sustained minor injuries during this morning's crash involving a semi truck near K-254 and Greenwich.
