Officer David Young was fired from his job.

A police officer in Seminole, Oklahoma has been fired after allegedly backing into another driver while under the influence. The victim, Robert Campbell, reported minor damages to his car and expressed shock that an officer of the law was suspected of driving drunk.

Campbell's car was hit by another vehicle rolling backwards at a gas station early Wednesday morning. After calling Seminole police, an officer tapped on the vehicle in question only to find out that it belonged to one of their own - David Young.

Police said Young was slurring his speech and had bloodshot eyes when they arrived at the scene. Although he denied a field sobriety test, alleged empty bottles and cans found in his car suggested otherwise.

Hours after being arrested for DUI (driving under influence), Chief Jon Withers announced that Young had been fired from his job as a police officer. "His actions that night put a black eye on the profession of being a police officer as well as the city," said Withers.

Robert Campbell agreed with this sentiment and stated: "Certain cops give certain cops a bad name." Fortunately, Campbell was able to make quick repairs to his damaged car using equipment he had on hand.
