Intersection reopened after repairs
A serious crash occurred at the intersection of Powers and Palmer Park in Colorado Springs, causing a major road closure. The incident took place around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, prompting the Colorado Springs Police Department to tweet about it.
According to police reports, a suspected DUI driver caused the crash by colliding with traffic lights at the intersection. The driver was subsequently transported to the hospital for treatment, although the severity of their injuries remains unknown at this time.
As a result of the accident, all four directions of Powers / Palmer Park Boulevard were closed while repairs were carried out on the damaged traffic lights. However, there is good news for motorists as authorities have since reopened the intersection.
