Serious Crash Closes Portion of Route 1 in Scarborough

A serious crash on Route 1 in Scarborough, Maine resulted in the closure of a portion of the road on Thursday morning. The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m., leading to the closure of both southbound lanes while emergency crews attended to the scene. The Scarborough Fire Department urged drivers to avoid the area between Pine Point Road and the Saco town line.

Fortunately, Route 1 was reopened at approximately 1:15 p.m., as confirmed by a Facebook post from the fire department. However, three individuals involved in the crash were transported to a hospital for medical evaluation, according to an afternoon news release by Scarborough police.
