Four People Injured in Serious Crash on I-485 Inner Loop in West Charlotte

Four people suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
A serious crash that injured four people has partially closed the I-485 Inner Loop in west Charlotte, according to NCDOT. The accident happened on Thursday, May 25th at around 10:34 a.m. near Moores Chapel Road.
The crash involved a tractor-trailer carrying a mobile home and another vehicle, according to the Charlotte Fire Department. An N.C. Highway Patrol official said the accident involved six vehicles with one vehicle involved in a fender bender before the mobile-home crash. The vehicle involving the mobile home traveled in an I-485 outbound lane and ended up in the inbound lanes during the accident.
Four people suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of this multi-vehicle wreck.
"The expected impact on traffic is high," warned NCDOT officials while announcing partial closure of I-485 prior to Exit 12 due to this incident.
All lanes have been opened as of 6:45 p.m., according to NCDOT; however, there will be a moving closure from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on inside shoulder edge of I-485 inner between I-77 South and I-485 (mile marker 10).
No word yet on what caused this horrific collision but authorities are investigating further into it for more details about how it occurred and who may be responsible for any damages or injuries sustained by those involved in this tragic event.
