Three people critically injured
Police are currently investigating a serious crash that occurred on Sunday evening, critically injuring three individuals and causing the closure of a section of a major highway in Michiana.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, the incident involved two vehicles and is believed to be a head-on collision caused by a wrong-way driver. The accident took place at the intersection of US-31 and 11th Road, approximately three miles south of the US-31/US-30 exits.
According to authorities, it appears as though a truck was traveling in the wrong direction when it collided with a sedan carrying two occupants. Following impact, the truck veered off into a ditch where it subsequently caught fire.
At the time of the crash, one person was inside the truck. All three individuals involved in this unfortunate incident have sustained critical injuries.
