Serious Crash Involving Cement Truck and Corvette Backs Up Traffic in Wimauma

Corvette driver seriously injured, cement truck driver not injured
A serious crash involving a cement truck and a Corvette has caused major traffic congestion in Wimauma, Florida. The incident occurred at approximately 5:35 a.m. on Friday morning at the intersection of State Road 674 and County Road 579, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to troopers, the driver of the Corvette was traveling westbound on S.R. 674 when their vehicle veered into the path of an eastbound cement mixer truck. The collision took place when the cement mixer slowed down to accommodate another car making a left turn.
The driver of the Corvette sustained serious injuries and was subsequently airlifted to Tampa General Hospital for treatment. Fortunately, no injuries were reported for the cement truck driver involved in this accident.
Efforts are currently underway to clear up debris from this crash; however, it is uncertain when normal traffic flow will resume in this area. Motorists are advised to avoid this section until further notice.
