Serious Crash Involving Tractor-Trailer in Kennebunk

Emergency crews in Kennebunk, Maine, responded to a serious crash involving a tractor-trailer on Thursday evening. According to Kennebunk Police Department Sgt. Audra Blaney, the incident occurred when the tractor-trailer failed to yield at the Mill Street intersection while traveling eastbound on Route 99 (Webber Hill Road). As a result, it collided with a vehicle heading westbound toward Sanford.
The impact of the collision caused the struck vehicle to collide with an additional vehicle before landing on the the tractor-trailer. The driver of the westbound vehicle was transported to Maine Medical Center with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
In response to this incident, drivers were advised by Kennebunk Police Department via Facebook post to avoid Webber Hill Road (Route 99) near Mill Street until emergency crews completed their work. Fortunately, as of now, all obstructions have been cleared from that area.
To aid in their investigation and accident reconstruction efforts, local authorities received assistance from both Maine State Police and an accident reconstructionist who reported directly to the scene.
Motorists are urged once again to steer clear of Route 99 (Webber Hill Road) around Mill Street due to ongoing emergency crew activities related to this serious crash.
