Serious Single Vehicle Accident in Mechanicsville, Md.

One person injured, no entrapment
Emergency personnel rushed to the scene of a serious single motor vehicle accident on Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville on August 24th. The incident occurred around 3:13 p.m. near Persimmon Creek Road and resulted in the closure of southbound lanes.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a tow truck overturned with one person injured but not trapped inside. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) promptly evaluated the driver at the scene who ultimately refused further medical care.
Due to diesel fuel leaking onto the roadway as a result of the accident, hazmat teams were called in for assistance. In addition, MDOT State Highway Administration was requested to aid with road closures and establish a detour route via Old Village Road.
The Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department provided exclusive photos capturing the aftermath of this unfortunate incident.
