70 Year Old Passenger from Estero, FL Injured in Single Car Crash in Charlotte County

Driver pronounced dead at the hospital, passenger sustained injuries
The Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating a single car crash that occurred in Charlotte County earlier today. The incident took place on the southbound lane of State Road 776 at approximately 10am.
According to the authorities, the driver of an SUV veered off the road and collided with a palm tree in a nearby parking lot. Both the driver and passenger were subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
Tragically, it has been reported that the 72-year-old driver from Englewood, FL was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Meanwhile, the 70-year-old passenger from Estero, FL sustained injuries as a result of the crash.
The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate this unfortunate accident in order to determine its cause and any contributing factors.
