A man from Oklaunion, Texas lost his life in a single-vehicle accident that occurred earlier this week. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Marc Couch, 58-year-old James Ray Duncan was driving south on County Road 117 when he drove off the road for an unknown reason. He then overcorrected and entered a side skid before crossing back across the road and driving into the bar ditch where his truck hit an embankment and overturned.
The incident happened at around 4:40 pm on Monday afternoon about 3.7 miles north of Oklaunion in Wilbarger county. Unfortunately, Duncan was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected from his pickup truck.
This is yet another tragic reminder of how important it is to always wear your seatbelt while driving. Our thoughts go out to Mr. Duncan's family during this difficult time as they mourn their loss.
