Idaho State Police Investigate Fatal Single Vehicle Collision
The Idaho State Police are currently investigating a tragic single vehicle collision that took place on Monday, July 10th at approximately 8:08 p.m. The incident occurred at 1186 E 990 S, just north of Kimberly in Jerome County.
According to authorities, a 22-year-old male from Junction, UT was driving an eastbound 2005 GMC Sierra along the road when the accident happened. For reasons yet to be determined, the driver veered off the right shoulder and drove through shrubs before returning onto the roadway. However, instead of regaining control of the vehicle, it crashed through a fence in a nearby parking lot and ultimately overturned onto its side.
Tragically, it has been reported that during this sequence of events, the driver was not wearing his seatbelt. Emergency services were called immediately and he was swiftly transported via ground ambulance to a local hospital for urgent medical attention. Despite their best efforts though, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
As is standard procedure in such cases, law enforcement officials have launched an investigation into this incident. The Idaho State Police will be working diligently to determine all relevant factors contributing to this fatal collision.
