Multiple Agencies Respond to Fatal Single-Vehicle Wreck in Decatur
A 47-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle wreck that occurred on Indian Hills Road in the area of Red Bank Road and Willow Bend Road, according to a spokesperson with the Decatur Police Department (DPD). The accident happened at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Monday.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Zachary Moore, who lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway and hit a tree. Moore was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities.
DPD reported that several agencies responded to the incident including police officers, firefighters and paramedics. A portion of Indian Hills Road, Red Bank Road and Willow Bend Road were temporarily closed while investigators worked to clear up debris from the crash site.
As of 11:45 a.m., traffic had returned back to normal after officials cleared up all wreckage from the scene. DPD is still investigating what caused Moore's fatal accident.
