Six Injured in Accident near Highway 2 in Nebraska City

Both drivers and four passengers in the Ford were taken to the hospital with suspected minor to serious injuries.

Six individuals were transported to CHI Health St. Mary's on Saturday afternoon following a collision near Highway 2 and East Fourth Corso, according to Nebraska City Fire and Rescue. The incident occurred when 72-year-old Jill Kruger of Nebraska City attempted to make a left turn from East Fourth Corso onto the eastbound lanes of Highway 2, close to the Missouri River bridge.

An Otoe County Sheriff's Office report stated that as Kruger made her turn, an oncoming Ford Edge driven by 22-year-old Nhu Le of Lincoln collided with the passenger side near the rear door of Kruger's Buick. Following impact, the Buick came to a stop in the eastbound lanes of the highway while the Ford Edge continued across the median and westbound lanes before landing in the north ditch.

All occupants involved in this accident were residents of Lincoln. Both drivers, along with four passengers traveling in the Ford Edge, sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious. They were promptly taken to CHI Health St. Mary's for medical treatment.

Authorities are currently investigating further details surrounding this incident.
