Stolen Dump Truck Slams into Multiple Cars in Pittsburgh

A stolen dump truck wreaked havoc on the streets of Shadyside, Pittsburgh, as it slammed into multiple cars before the suspect fled the scene on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred at the intersection of Centre Avenue and S. Graham Street around 2:51 p.m., prompting a response from police, fire, and EMS crews.
According to reports from Allegheny County 911, the landscaping dump truck was stolen from the 4900 block of Rosetta Street. Witnesses observed a male individual entering the vehicle and speeding away. Employees who witnessed the theft followed in a red pickup truck in an attempt to track down the culprit.
Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos as both trucks traveled down S. Graham Street in the wrong direction.
The stolen dump truck collided with several vehicles along Centre Avenue before coming to a stop. Concerned for public safety, officers did not pursue or engage with the driver during this time.
Fortunately, there were no serious injuries reported despite significant property damage caused by these collisions. At least three cars had to be towed away due to extensive damage sustained during impact.
Following his reckless spree behind-the-wheel, which left destruction in its wake across Shadyside, the suspect abandoned the stolen dump truck and fled on foot. Officers later located the vehicle a short distance away from where it had collided with other cars.
One woman at the scene received minor injuries and was treated by emergency medical personnel. The investigation into this incident is currently ongoing as authorities work to identify and apprehend the suspect responsible for this dangerous episode in Pittsburgh's streets.
