A 51-year-old man from Pueblo was arrested by the Pueblo Police Department after crashing a stolen truck into a marked police vehicle early Sunday morning. The man, identified as Jon Paul Romero, fled the scene of the accident but was eventually apprehended by the police officers. A female passenger who was with Romero in the stolen truck was also arrested on an outstanding felony warrant. The police officer involved in the collision sustained minor injuries and was treated for the same.

The incident occurred at the intersection of East 8th Street and Hudson Avenue at around 1:45 a.m. on Sunday. Romero was presented in court on Monday and charged with aggravated motor vehicle theft, leaving the scene of an accident, and a few traffic violations. He was released on a $7,500 personal recognizance bond after the hearing and is scheduled to appear in court again on May 10.
