Albuquerque, N.M. -
University of New Mexico police reported a crash involving a stolen truck on Monday morning that left two people injured. According to authorities, the truck was heading north on Indian School when it ran a red light and hit two other vehicles before colliding with a cinderblock wall outside of the Vitalant on University Blvd.
Upon searching the truck, police found burglary tools and a catalytic converter. The two individuals inside the stolen vehicle were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety of the roads in the area, as well as the prevalence of stolen vehicles. University of New Mexico police have urged residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
Meanwhile, the state of New Mexico continues to face severe drought conditions. According to recent reports, the worst droughts in the state are currently located in the eastern and southeastern regions. The lack of rainfall has led to water shortages and increased wildfire risks.
