Suspect crashes on I-69 after robbing Anderson liquor store

Indiana State Police have reported that a suspect crashed on Interstate 69 after robbing an Anderson liquor store and being pursued by troopers. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening, when officers were called to the Save-On Liquor Store in Anderson following reports of an armed robbery.
According to the Anderson Police Department, the male suspect used a handgun to demand money before taking an undisclosed amount of cash. Indiana State Police initially pursued the man's silver sedan but he managed to evade them.
The suspect was later located driving southbound on Interstate 69 from Madison County into Hamilton County and ISP troopers began pursuing him. During the pursuit, it was confirmed that he was driving over 100 miles per hour.
Near mile marker 206.8 on I-69 in Fishers, Indiana State Police said that the suspect crashed his vehicle and crossed over into the northbound lane. Troopers in pursuit of him said he swerved his vehicle to avoid other cars on the interstate when he lost control and his car flipped over a guardrail.
The suspect sustained serious but nonfatal injuries and was taken to St. Vincent Hospital for treatment. As a result of this crash and ensuing investigation, ISP stated that northbound lanes of I-69 were shut down for some time.
No further details about this incident have been released at present by authorities involved in investigating it.
