Tanker Truck Crash Causes Asphalt Spill on I-35W in Minneapolis

Driver suffered injuries that aren't considered life-threatening. Scene was cleared as of Tuesday morning.
A section of Interstate 35W in Minneapolis was closed down on Monday evening after a tanker truck crashed and spilled hundreds of gallons of liquid asphalt tack. The Minnesota State Patrol reported that the incident occurred on southbound I-35W near Industrial Boulevard.
The tanker was carrying 1,500 gallons of an asphalt bonding agent. Approximately 400 to 500 gallons ended up spilling onto the roadway.
The driver sustained injuries but they are not considered life-threatening. As of Tuesday morning, authorities had cleared the scene but investigations into what caused the crash continue.
