Teacher Charlien Berry Dies in Vehicle Crash in Winterville, N.C.

A beloved teacher from Pitt County Schools tragically lost her life over the weekend in a vehicle crash. Charlien Berry, 41 years old and a pre-K teacher at Sadie Saulter Pre-K Center, passed away on Sunday.
According to Winterville police, the accident occurred around 2:37 a.m. on Sunday when Berry was making a left turn from Highway 11 onto Beacon Drive. At that moment, her vehicle collided with another heading north on Highway 11.
The investigation into the crash is currently ongoing as authorities work to determine the exact cause of the collision.
Pitt County Schools expressed their deep sorrow over Berry's untimely passing and released an official statement:
"The Pitt County Schools family is deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Ms. Charlien Berry on Sunday. Ms. Berry was a beloved teacher at the Sadie Saulter Pre-K Center after serving as a teacher assistant at Northwest Elementary School beginning in 2013. We offer our prayers, thoughts and condolences to her family and loved ones, and extend our hands out to provide support however we can. The impact she had on her students, colleagues and many others in our community and schools were equaled by few."
Charlien Berry's dedication to education touched countless lives throughout her career as both a teacher assistant at Northwest Elementary School and later as a pre-K teacher at Sadie Saulter Pre-K Center.
